Our family has been trapping and providing lobsters to locals, tourists, chefs, and anyone else who enjoys fresh, local lobster for over 40 years!

Founded by my father James Mataronas III in 1971, we operate our boats and tanks for our retail store from beautiful Sakonnet Point. Year after year, families return to us not only for the lobster but also for the experience. Our picturesque seaside shop, framed by stacks of wire traps, is an essential summer adventure. Once inside you can choose your live lobsters from our tanks that are constantly replenished with fresh sea-water that is pumped directly from the ocean. And don’t forget to check out our famous (and very rare) two-toned lobster, caught by one of my brothers off Newport R.I. in 2007! Lobstering runs in the family, lobsters coming from my brothers, friends, neighbors nearby-and our offshore crew that is part of the family as well. And even though lobstering can be difficult, we all love the challenge, and continue trapping-harvesting lobsters through the colder months to provide the freshest live lobster year-round.

Can’t make it to the shop? We also ship lobsters overnight to the Continental U.S. Our lobsters are packed with care to ensure the greatest longevity.
